Car
If you are driving from Sarpang town, head north on the main road (Thimphu - Phuentsholing Highway). Continue for approximately 45 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Semtokha Dzong. Once you reach the town of Semtokha, turn onto Je Bamo Lam SE. The dzong will be on your right. Parking is available nearby.
Public Bus
From Sarpang, you can take a local bus heading towards Thimphu. Buses depart frequently from the bus terminal in Sarpang. Make sure to inform the driver or conductor that you want to get off at Semtokha. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive, walk along Je Bamo Lam SE, and you will see Simtokha Dzong on your right. The bus fare is typically around 50-100 Ngultrum.
Taxi
You can hire a taxi from Sarpang directly to Simtokha Dzong. This is the most convenient option if you prefer not to navigate public transportation. The taxi ride will take approximately 45 minutes, and the fare may range from 1000 to 1500 Ngultrum, depending on the negotiation with the driver.
Walking (from Semtokha Town)
If you are staying in Semtokha or have arrived via public transport, you can walk to Simtokha Dzong. From the center of Semtokha, head east on Je Bamo Lam SE. The dzong is approximately a 15-20 minute walk, and you will pass through a quaint village area.
