Car
From Tashiyangtse, head towards the main road leading out of the town. Continue driving for about 20 kilometers on the road that leads to Jakar. Watch for local signposts indicating the direction to Nyimalung Monastery. As you approach Jakar, you will see a sign for Nyimalung Monastery directing you to turn off the main road. Follow this road for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the monastery. Parking is available near the entrance.
Public Transportation
Start at the main bus station in Tashiyangtse. Board a bus heading towards Jakar. The fare should be around 100-150 Ngultrum per person. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you arrive in Jakar, disembark at the Jakar bus terminal. From there, you may need to hire a local taxi or ask for shared transport to Nyimalung Monastery. This will be a short drive of about 10-15 minutes, and the taxi fare should be around 200-300 Ngultrum.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and the weather is pleasant, you can also consider walking to Nyimalung Monastery from Jakar. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers and will take around 1 to 1.5 hours. Start from the Jakar bus terminal and head towards the monastery using the local paths. Follow the trail signs, and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water with you.
