Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Trashigang town. Head east on the Trashigang-Kanglung road. Continue driving for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the junction for Kanglung. Take a right turn towards Kanglung and follow the road for about 5 kilometers. Once you reach Kanglung, look for local signs directing you to Phu Katang. From Kanglung, you may need to follow a smaller road leading towards Phu Katang, which is approximately 3 kilometers away. Be cautious of the road conditions and be prepared for some rough patches. Parking is available near the hiking area.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, head to the local bus terminal in Trashigang. Look for buses heading towards Kanglung. The bus ride should take about 30-40 minutes and typically costs around 50-100 Ngultrum. Once you arrive in Kanglung, you can either take a taxi or a local shared vehicle to reach Phu Katang. The taxi fare might range from 200 to 300 Ngultrum, while shared vehicles may cost around 50 Ngultrum per person. Confirm the location with the driver to ensure they are heading to Phu Katang.
