Getting there

Walking

From the center of Trongsa town, head towards the main road (the one that goes uphill). You will see a sign pointing towards Trongsa Dzong. Follow this road, which will begin to ascend. Continue walking for about 10-15 minutes. You will pass a few local shops and houses along the way. As you approach the Dzong, you will notice the magnificent structure peeking over the hill. When you reach the Dzong, you will find a large stairway leading up to the entrance.

Walking

If you are starting from the Trongsa Dzong viewpoint, which is accessible by a short trek from the town, walk down the pathway that leads towards the steps of the Dzong. This scenic route will take you through some beautiful natural surroundings. Follow the path down and you will arrive at the main entrance of the Dzong within minutes.

Walking

From the Trongsa Archery Range, head back towards the main road and turn left. Walk along the road for about 5 minutes until you see a clear path leading up to the Dzong. Ascend the path, which has a few switchbacks, and you will reach the Dzong in approximately 10 minutes.
