From the center of Trongsa town, head towards the main road (the one that goes uphill). You will see a sign pointing towards Trongsa Dzong. Follow this road, which will begin to ascend. Continue walking for about 10-15 minutes. You will pass a few local shops and houses along the way. As you approach the Dzong, you will notice the magnificent structure peeking over the hill. When you reach the Dzong, you will find a large stairway leading up to the entrance.
