Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, head east towards the main road. Once you reach the road, turn left and walk straight for about 10 minutes. You will pass local shops and eateries along the way, which can be good places to stop if you need refreshments. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the Tencholing Ground. Follow the signs that indicate the direction to the Army barracks. The ground is approximately another 15-minute walk from the intersection.

    If you are starting from the Wangdue Phodrang market area, exit the market and head south towards the main road. Turn right and walk for about 20 minutes. Look out for local landmarks, such as the Wangdue Phodrang Chhu (river) on your right. After crossing a small bridge, continue on the same road, and you will eventually see a sign for Tencholing Ground. The entrance will be on your left after about 5 minutes of walking.
