Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest major city, which is Oruro. Head southeast on Route 1 towards Tapaquilcha. The journey is approximately 150 km and takes around 3 hours. Once you reach Tapaquilcha, navigate to the coordinates F4VG+GJ. There should be signs directing you towards Vistas a la Laguna y Cerro Chulluncani. Ensure to have a reliable GPS as some roads may be unpaved or in poor condition.

• Public Transportation

  For those opting for public transportation, take a bus from Oruro to Tapaquilcha. Buses depart regularly from the main bus terminal in Oruro. The fare is usually around 30 BOB. The bus journey takes approximately 4 hours. Once you arrive in Tapaquilcha, you can either hike or take a local taxi to the coordinates F4VG+GJ. Taxis can be found near the bus stop and should cost around 20 BOB for the short trip to the site.

• Hiking

  If you are feeling adventurous and are already in Tapaquilcha, you can hike to Vistas a la Laguna y Cerro Chulluncani. The hike from the town center to the site is about 5 km and takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Follow the dirt paths leading towards the mountains, and keep an eye out for local guides who may offer assistance. Bring plenty of water and wear appropriate hiking shoes as the terrain can be rugged.
