If you are driving to Parque Nacional Madidi, start your journey from Rurrenabaque, the most common gateway to the park. Take the main road (Ruta 16) heading northwest out of Rurrenabaque. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will reach the town of San Buenaventura. From there, continue on the same road for another 30 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the park at RM68+8C8, Ucumari. Make sure to pay the entrance fee, which is around 50 BOB (Bolivian Bolivianos) per person, before entering the park.

To reach Parque Nacional Madidi using public transport, take a minibus from Rurrenabaque to San Buenaventura. This journey typically costs around 20 BOB and takes about 1 hour. From San Buenaventura, you will need to hire a taxi or a local guide to take you to the park entrance at RM68+8C8, Ucumari. Taxi fares can vary, but expect to pay around 50-80 BOB for the trip. It’s recommended to arrange transportation in advance to ensure a smooth journey.
