Car
From the center of Salar de Uyuni, drive towards Colchani. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes. Follow Avenida Ferroviaria heading east, then continue onto Route 30. Once you reach Colchani, look for the signs directing you to Escalera al Cielo. The specific location is approximately 10 kilometers from Colchani, located at PXV4+9F4 Unnamed Road. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel as services are limited in the area.
Public Transportation
To reach Escalera al Cielo via public transportation, head to the bus station in Salar de Uyuni. Look for a bus or shared taxi heading to Colchani. The ride should take about 30 minutes and will cost around 5-10 BOB (Bolivian Bolivianos). Once you arrive in Colchani, you can either walk (approximately 10 kilometers) or hire a local taxi to take you to Escalera al Cielo for around 30-50 BOB.
Walking
If you prefer walking from Colchani to Escalera al Cielo, start from the main plaza in Colchani and head east towards the salt flats. The distance is about 10 kilometers, so be prepared for a long trek. Ensure you have plenty of water and wear sun protection, as the sun can be intense.
