Brdo Križevac: A Sacred Pilgrimage Destination

Getting There

• Car

  From Mostar city center, head southeast on M17 towards the town of Blagaj. Continue on M17 for about 5 kilometers until you reach the junction for the R425 road. Turn left onto R425 and follow the road towards Zvirovići. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will see signs for 'Brdo Križevac'. Turn onto the local road, and follow it uphill until you reach the parking area near the pilgrimage site. Be aware that parking is limited, so arrive early to secure a spot.

• Public Transportation

  From the main bus station in Mostar, look for a bus heading towards Blagaj or Zvirovići. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. After arriving in Zvirovići, you may need to walk about 1.5 kilometers to reach Brdo Križevac. Follow the signs towards Križevac, and be prepared for an uphill trek. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips, as service may be limited in the evening.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Mostar to Brdo Križevac. The fare may vary, but expect to pay around 30-50 BAM (Bosnian Convertible Mark) for a one-way trip. Ensure to negotiate the price before starting the journey. The drive will take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

• Walking

  For the adventurous spirit, if you are in the vicinity of Zvirovići, you can walk to Brdo Križevac. The trail begins at the edge of the village and leads directly up to the hill. It is a steep path, so wear comfortable footwear and be prepared for a rigorous hike. Allow about 1 hour to reach the top, where you can enjoy breathtaking views and the serene atmosphere.
