The Old Town of Klobuk, a designated National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a historic fortress located near the village of Aranđelovo. Perched on the karst plateau of Mirotinske grede, the fortress overlooks the Sušica River valley. Built in the 9th century, Klobuk is considered the oldest fort in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The fortress played a significant role throughout history, serving as a part of the medieval Serbian state and later being controlled by Bosnian rulers. The Ottomans captured it in 1477 and maintained a military presence until 1878. Klobuk's strategic importance grew after 1699, as it stood as a key point against Venetian Dalmatia and Montenegro. Unfortunately, the fortress was heavily damaged in 1878 by Austro-Hungarian forces. Today, visitors can explore the remains of the fortress walls and enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. In recent years, Klobuk gained popularity as a filming location for Emir Kusturica's movie 'On the Milky Road,' starring Monica Bellucci.
