Camp Kalahari, located on Brown Hyena Island, is an affordable camp in the heart of the Kalahari. The camp evokes memories of the past, with a traditional design that makes every guest feel like an explorer. The camp is set amongst waving palms and acacia trees, offering a relaxed atmosphere.The camp features 12 Meru-style tents, including family units, each with ensuite bathrooms. The tents offer comfortable beds, cotton sheets, and private verandas. The main area includes a library, lounge, and dining area decorated with African furniture and colonial antiques. A swimming pool provides respite from the desert heat.Camp Kalahari offers a variety of activities, including game drives, bush walks with local Bushmen, and quad biking across the salt pans. Guests can encounter habituated meerkats, explore the desert on horseback, and witness the zebra and wildebeest migration. The camp provides an authentic safari experience with opportunities to learn about the local culture and discover the unique wildlife of the Kalahari.

Getting There
Air Transfer
The most common way to reach Camp Kalahari is by a 50-minute light aircraft flight from Maun Airport (MUB). Natural Selection can arrange the flight. Upon arrival at the airstrip, a 20-minute 4x4 transfer will take you to the camp. This transfer is typically included in the camp rate.
Road Transfer
Road transfers from Maun are also available, though they are significantly longer, taking approximately 8 hours. These transfers can be arranged through Natural Selection. A surcharge may apply to single travelers. Cost: Approximately $450 per person.
