While a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for exploring the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, access to San Camp is typically arranged by the camp. If self-driving, it's best to contact the camp in advance for directions and to inquire about the current road conditions. Roads in the area can be challenging, especially during the rainy season. Park entry fees are approximately BWP 120 per person and BWP 50 per vehicle per day. Fuel and supplies should be carried, and a GPS device is recommended.
