The Museu Nacional da República (MuN), inaugurated on December 15, 2006, is part of the Cultural Complex of the Republic, along with the National Library of Brasília. Designed by the renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, the museum embodies the monumental scale of the Esplanade, aligning with modernist aesthetics.The museum's architecture features a semi-spherical structure with a base radius of 32.6 meters and a height of 26.25 meters, encompassing a total area of 15,000 square meters. The interior is divided into four levels: a basement, ground floor, an upper floor for exhibitions, and a mezzanine. The upper floor, accessible via two independent ramps, provides a vast, open space of 3,203.19 square meters dedicated to showcasing art exhibitions.The museum's mission is to promote visual arts to a wide audience, encouraging curiosity and knowledge through the formation of collections, research, and educational initiatives. It hosts both permanent and temporary exhibitions, featuring works by Brazilian and international artists. The surrounding area serves as a social hub, hosting cultural events and performances.
