To reach the trailhead at Caieira da Barra do Sul from Florianópolis, take a bus from the Terminal Rita Maria to Ribeirão da Ilha. From Ribeirão da Ilha, transfer to a local bus that goes to Caieira da Barra do Sul. The bus ride from the main terminal to Ribeirão da Ilha takes approximately 30 minutes. The cost for a single bus fare in Florianópolis is around R$4.50.
