Getting There

  • Driving

    Araras Pantanal Eco Lodge is accessible via the Transpantaneira highway (Estrada Parque). From Cuiabá, drive south to Poconé (approximately 100 km). The Transpantaneira begins in Poconé and leads south into the Pantanal. The lodge is located along this road. Be aware that the Transpantaneira is an unpaved dirt road with numerous wooden bridges, some in disrepair, so drive cautiously. Ensure you have a full tank of gas and consider a 4x4 vehicle, especially during the rainy season. Note: There are no tolls on the Transpantaneira. As of July 2025, a taxi from Cuiabá to Poconé could cost around R$150-R$200. Package trips often include transport along the Transpantaneira.

  • Public Transport

    To reach Araras Eco Lodge via public transport, take a bus from Cuiabá to Poconé. TUT offers daily departures (approximately 2.5 hours, R$10). From Poconé, arrange a transfer with the lodge, as public transport along the Transpantaneira is non-existent. This transfer will likely be in a private vehicle or shared taxi. Expect to pay R$150-R$200 for a taxi from Cuiabá to Pocone.
