From anywhere in the Zona Sul (South Zone) of Rio, a taxi or ride-share to Praia Vermelha in Urca is a convenient option. Tell the driver you want to go to 'Praia Vermelha, Urca'. From there, the trail entrance is at the left end of the beach. A short taxi ride within Zona Sul typically costs between R$20-R$40, depending on traffic.

If you are already in Urca, simply walk towards Praia Vermelha. The beach is easily accessible from most points in the neighborhood. The trail entrance is located at the left end of the beach, near the red sands. There is no cost for walking to the trail entrance.
