Public Transport
From Rio de Janeiro's South Zone, take bus line 409 towards Horto. Alight at the final stop in Horto. From there, the Vista Chinesa is accessible by foot or bicycle along the Estrada da Vista Chinesa. The bus fare is approximately R$5. Be prepared for an uphill walk of about 4.5 kilometers from the bus stop to Vista Chinesa, which may take around 4 hours.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From areas like Copacabana or Ipanema, a taxi or ride-sharing service (such as Uber) is a convenient option. The ride to Vista Chinesa typically takes about 22 minutes and costs between R$70 and R$85. Note that traffic conditions can affect travel time and cost. The drop-off point is directly at Vista Chinesa.
Driving
If driving from the South Zone, follow Rua Pacheco Leão into Tijuca National Park, continuing towards Vista Chinesa. From Tijuca or Barra da Tijuca, ascend Alto da Boa Vista and take Estrada Dona Castorina towards Horto. The drive takes approximately 20 minutes from the Botanical Garden. Parking is available near Vista Chinesa, but it can be limited, especially on weekends. There are no toll roads on the immediate final approach.
