Public Transport
From central Rio, take a bus to the Jardim Botânico. Several bus lines serve the area, including 409 and 416. The ride will take approximately 25 minutes and cost R$5. Get off at the Jardim Botânico stop. From the entrance, follow signs to Lago das Fadas.

From anywhere in Rio de Janeiro, a taxi or ride-sharing service (Uber) can take you directly to the Jardim Botânico. The drive from downtown Rio typically takes around 12 minutes and costs between R$50-R$65. Ask the driver to drop you off at the main entrance on Rua Jardim Botânico, 1008. From there, it's a short walk to Lago das Fadas.

If you are already in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood, walking to Lago das Fadas is a pleasant option. Enter the Botanical Garden through one of the pedestrian entrances on Rua Jardim Botânico or Rua Pacheco Leão. Once inside, follow the signs and maps to reach Lago das Fadas. Note that there is an entrance fee to the Jardim Botânico: Foreign visitors: R$ 73,00.
