Parque Tanguá: A Green Escape in Curitiba

Parque Tanguá, located in the northern region of Curitiba, is one of the city's most beloved parks. Opened on November 23, 1996, the park was built on the site of two deactivated quarries, transforming the area into a stunning 235,000 square meter green space. The park is divided into two main areas: an upper section featuring the Jardim Poty Lazzarotto and a lower section with lakes and a tunnel.The Jardim Poty Lazzarotto, named in honor of the local artist, showcases a French-style garden with flower beds and water features. A belvedere offers panoramic views of the park and the city. The lower section includes two lakes connected by a 45-meter tunnel, which visitors can walk through on a walkway over the water. An artificial waterfall adds to the picturesque scenery.Visitors can enjoy various activities such as walking, cycling, and boating. The park also features hiking trails, a bike path, a bistro, and picnic areas. Parque Tanguá is known for its semi-circle viewpoint, which offers beautiful cityscapes, especially at sunset. The park serves to preserve the northern basin of the Barigui River. The park is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.
