Discover more about Ulu Temburong National Park

Ulu Temburong National Park, established in 1991, is a protected area showcasing Brunei's commitment to preserving its ecosystems. Known as the 'Green Jewel of Brunei,' the park covers approximately 550 square kilometers of virgin rainforest in the Temburong District. Its remote location and challenging terrain have helped limit human impact, preserving its rich biodiversity. The park is accessible only by boat, making the journey part of the adventure. From Bandar Seri Begawan, a water taxi takes you to Bangar town, followed by a road trip to Batang Duri, where longboats await to navigate the Temburong River into the park. The boat ride offers glimpses of mangrove forests and, with luck, proboscis monkeys. Once inside the park, explore the extensive network of boardwalks, bridges, and stairways. The highlight for many is the Canopy Walkway, a steel structure rising 50 meters above the forest floor, providing panoramic views of the rainforest canopy. Keep an eye out for diverse wildlife, including various bird species, reptiles, and insects. While in the park, you can also visit waterfalls and swim in natural pools. The park is part of the Heart of Borneo conservation agreement, emphasizing the importance of protecting this unique ecosystem.
