Situated in Kampong Sungai Kayu Ara, it's under the administration of Kampong Lumut II in Mukim Liang, Belait District. Overlooking Lumut Beach, the lighthouse is a prominent landmark in the area. Completed in November 2004 and inaugurated in March 2005, the lighthouse was built at a cost of B$937,212.08. In 2006, it gained national attention when visited by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
