Tasek Lama Recreational Park, also known as Taman Peranginan Tasek Lama, is an urban park located in the heart of Bandar Seri Begawan. Established in the early 1990s, this recreational area offers a green escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The park features an artificial lake and waterfall, attracting visitors with its scenic landscape and diverse bird population. The park is popular for outdoor activities such as jogging, walking, and hiking. Pathways lead to the waterfall and various hills, including Bukit Sarang Helang, Bukit Luba, Bukit Karamunting, and Bukit Markuching. Exercise facilities, a reflexology path, gym equipment, and a children's play area are available. The jungle trails of Bukit Markuching and Sarang Helang offer a wooden terrace by the waterfall and an observation tower with panoramic views. The park sustains around 80 bird species, including the straw-headed bulbul and white-rumped shama. A concrete dam, built in 1926 at the summit of the Tasek Lama waterfall, directs water flow to Bandar Seri Begawan.
