Opened in 2012, the mosque is situated near the Prime Minister's Office complex on Jalan Kumbang Pasang. Designed by Egyptian architect Abdel-Wahed El-Wakil, the mosque is intended to be a spiritual oasis, blending traditional Islamic aesthetics with modern features.The mosque's design incorporates elements from Andalusian and Moorish Maghrebi architecture. The exterior showcases a blend of domes and minarets adorned with intricate calligraphy and ornate details. A key feature is the motorized retractable glass roof, providing flexibility for indoor and outdoor use. The mosque also features water elements in the courtyard, Moroccan mosaics, a marble fountain with brass lamps, and walls embellished with hand-carved mosaics and Arabic calligraphy.Inside, the mosque can accommodate up to 700 worshippers. The prayer halls are air-conditioned and styled with Moroccan columns. The mosque also includes a multipurpose hall, separate restrooms and ablution areas, and parking for around 130 vehicles. The mosque embraces copies of the Sultan's personal possessions, including his crown, outfits, and weapons. Visitors are welcome to experience the mosque's serene atmosphere, but are expected to dress modestly, observe silence, and remove their shoes before entering.
