Car
If you're driving from the Telisai area, head southeast on Jalan Telisai towards Jalan Lumapas. Continue straight for about 12 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Jalan Tutong. Turn right onto Jalan Tutong and follow the road for approximately 8 kilometers. You will then merge onto Jalan Istana Darussalam. Look for signs directing you towards Istana Darussalam, which will be on your left. There is no entrance fee to access the area surrounding the palace.
Public Transportation
To reach Istana Darussalam via public transport, start by taking a bus from Telisai Bus Station. Look for buses heading to Bandar Seri Begawan, which is the capital city. The journey should take around 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in Bandar Seri Begawan, you can either take a taxi or a local bus to reach Istana Darussalam. The taxi ride will take approximately 10 minutes, while the local bus may take a bit longer. Ensure you have some Bruneian dollars ready for bus fare, which is typically around BND 1-2.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from any point in Telisai. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Istana Darussalam in Bandar Seri Begawan. The taxi ride will take approximately 25-30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Taxi fares can vary, so be prepared to pay around BND 20-30 for the trip.
