Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by heading to the main road E83. Depending on your starting point in Northwest Bulgaria, you may need to navigate through towns like Vidin or Montana. Once you reach the E83 road, head southeast toward Lovech. After approximately 60 kilometers, take the exit toward Devetaki (also marked for Devetashka Cave). Follow the signs directing you to Devetaki village. The cave is approximately 3 kilometers from the village center. Parking is available near the cave entrance.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from major towns in Northwest Bulgaria to Lovech. Buses to Lovech run frequently from Vidin and Montana. Upon arrival in Lovech, you will need to take a local bus or taxi to Devetaki village, which is about 25 kilometers away. Ensure to check the schedule for local buses ahead of time, as they may not run frequently. Once in Devetaki village, the cave is about a 3-kilometer walk from the village center. Be prepared for a short hike as the trail can be uneven.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  If you prefer a more direct route without public transportation, consider hiring a taxi or using a ride-sharing service from Lovech to Devetaki village. This will provide you with a convenient and quick way to arrive at the cave, though it may incur higher costs compared to public transport options. The drive from Lovech to Devetaki should take around 30 minutes.
