The statue depicts Borimechkata announcing the first cannon fired by rebels.Each year on May 1st, Klisura commemorates the April Uprising with reenactments around the monument, featuring amateur actors and volunteers. The day includes a requiem service at the Church of St. Nicholas, a processional march, and a ceremonial rally with a firework display. The monument offers visitors a place to reflect on Bulgaria's history and enjoy the surrounding landscape.
