The hike is moderately challenging, taking approximately 30-45 minutes to cover the 2-3 km distance. Ensure you have appropriate footwear and water, as the trail can be steep in sections. There are no fees for hiking the trail.

To reach Khadzhi Dimitur Peak via public transport, take a bus from Sofia to Kazanlak. From Kazanlak, local buses or taxis can take you to the foothills of the Balkan Mountains. From there, follow the hiking trail to the peak. Bus fare from Sofia to Kazanlak ranges from 6-12 BGN. A taxi from Kazanlak to the mountain base may cost 15-25 BGN. Factor in additional time for transfers and the hike.

If driving from Sofia, take the A1 highway towards Burgas and then follow Route 5 to Kazanlak. From Kazanlak, follow local roads towards the Buzludzha Monument and Khadzhi Dimitur Peak. Parking is available near the monument, from where you can hike to the peak. The drive from Sofia to Kazanlak is approximately 3 hours. Parking is free. Be aware that roads can be winding and mountainous.
