Car
From Rutana, head northwest on Avenue de l'Indépendance towards Avenue des Nations Unies. After 2 km, turn left onto the N3 road following signs for Bikinga. Continue on the N3 for approximately 10 km until you reach the junction for Busuma. Turn right at the junction and follow the road for another 5 km; you will arrive in Rutagara in Busuma.
Public Transportation
Take a local minibus (known as a 'taxi-brousse') from Rutana to Bikinga. The minibus terminal is located near the central market in Rutana. The fare is usually around 2,000 BIF (Burundian Francs). Once you arrive in Bikinga, you can catch another minibus heading towards Busuma. The fare for this leg of the trip is approximately 1,500 BIF. After arriving in Busuma, you may need to walk or hire a motorcycle taxi to reach Rutagara, which is about 3 km away.
Motorcycle Taxi
If you're in Busuma and prefer a quicker option, hire a motorcycle taxi to take you directly to Rutagara. The journey is about 10 minutes and should cost around 3,000 BIF. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride.
