Car
If you are traveling by car, head to the main road linking the towns of Santo Antão. From the port town of Porto Novo, take the road towards Ribeira Grande. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the town of Ribeira Grande. Continue on the road towards the valley of Paul. Look for signs indicating Vila das Pombas. After approximately 40 minutes of driving, you will arrive in Vila das Pombas. Casa das Ilhas is located in Lombo Comprido, just off the main road. Make sure to follow the directions to Paul and then to Vila das Pombas. Parking is available near the guesthouse.

Public Transportation (Minibus)
To reach Casa das Ilhas by public transportation, you can take a minibus from Porto Novo to Ribeira Grande. The minibuses leave regularly throughout the day. Once you arrive in Ribeira Grande, transfer to a minibus heading to Paul. The journey to Paul takes around 30 to 40 minutes. When you arrive in Vila das Pombas, you can either walk the remaining distance to Casa das Ilhas, which is about a 15-minute walk, or ask a local for directions if needed. The total cost for the minibus rides should be around 200 CVE (Cape Verdean Escudo).

For a more direct option, consider hiring a taxi from any location in Santo Antão. This is especially convenient if you are traveling with luggage or prefer a more comfortable journey. You can negotiate the fare with the driver, but expect to pay around 1,500 to 2,000 CVE for a taxi ride from Porto Novo to Casa das Ilhas, depending on the distance and time of day. The taxi will take you directly to the guesthouse, ensuring a hassle-free arrival.
