Car Rental
If you have rented a car, start from the capital city of São Nicolau, Ribeira Brava. Head northeast on the main road, and follow the signs toward the town of Vila de Ribeira Brava. After approximately 30 minutes of driving, you will reach the town. Continue to follow the coastal road north. Keep an eye out for signs directing you toward the port area, as you will need to reach the ferry terminal to get to Ilhéu Branco. The drive to the port should take around 20 minutes.
Public Transportation
To reach Ilhéu Branco using public transport, take a local bus from Ribeira Brava to Vila de Ribeira Brava. Buses run regularly, and the fare is typically around 50 CVE. Once you are in Vila de Ribeira Brava, you will need to walk to the ferry terminal. Ask locals for directions if you're unsure. The ferry ride to Ilhéu Branco takes roughly 30 minutes and may cost around 300 CVE. Be sure to check the ferry schedule in advance, as it may vary depending on the day and weather conditions.

Once you arrive at the ferry terminal in Vila de Ribeira Brava, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Ilhéu Branco. The ferry is the only way to access the island directly from São Nicolau.
