Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the city center of Mindelo. Take the EN1-SV road heading south. Continue on this road for about 12 kilometers until you reach the junction near the town of Ribeira Brava. At the junction, turn left onto the road heading towards Monte Verde. Follow the signs for Monte Verde, which is about 8 kilometers from the junction. The road may be steep and winding, so drive carefully. Upon arrival, you will find a parking area near the trailhead leading to the peak.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Mindelo (Praça Nova). Look for the 'chapa' (shared taxi) that goes towards Ribeira Brava. The fare is around 100 CVE (Cape Verdean Escudo). After about a 20-minute ride, get off at the junction for Monte Verde. From there, you can find local taxis to take you the rest of the way to the peak, which should cost approximately 300 CVE for the short trip up the mountain. Alternatively, if you're feeling adventurous, you can hike from the junction to the peak, which is about 8 kilometers and may take roughly 2-3 hours.
