Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring Bolsa Chica State Beach.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Driving
If driving, approach Bolsa Chica State Beach via Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). The main entrance is located between Warner Avenue and Seapoint Street. Parking is available in the park's lots for $15 per day. Be aware that parking lots can fill up quickly during peak season and on weekends. Consider arriving early to secure a spot.
Public Transport
For those using public transportation, Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) buses stop regularly at Pacific Coast Highway and Warner Avenue, adjacent to Bolsa Chica State Beach. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the beach entrance. A single fare on OCTA is around $2.
Ride Share
If using a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft, it's recommended to get dropped off at the traffic circle near the Jack in the Box at PCH and Warner Avenue. This avoids the $15 parking fee for entering the park. From there, it's a short walk to the beach via the boardwalk.
Biking
Cyclists can access Bolsa Chica State Beach via the Bolsa Chica Bicycle Path, which runs along the length of the park. Bike racks are available near the beach entrance. If approaching from the south, the path connects to Huntington City Beach. From the north, it connects to Sunset Beach.
