Take exit 172 for Lake Hughes Rd. and turn right onto Lake Hughes Rd. Follow Lake Hughes Rd. for about 2 miles until it intersects with Castaic Lake Dr. Turn left onto Castaic Lake Dr. and follow it for another 2 miles until you reach the entrance to Castaic Lake State Recreation Area. Note that there is a parking fee of $12 for day use, which you can pay at the entrance.
