From downtown Bakersfield, take the Golden Empire Transit (GET) bus route 34 towards North Chester Avenue. Board the bus at the nearest bus stop. Ride the bus for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the stop at North Chester Avenue and Round Mountain Road. From there, you will need to walk about 1.5 miles along Round Mountain Road to reach The Ernst Quarries. Be sure to follow the road signs and stay on the designated walking path.
Bicycle
If you are comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one from a local rental shop in Bakersfield. Start from the downtown area and head north on Chester Avenue. Continue straight until you reach Round Mountain Road. Turn right onto Round Mountain Road and follow it for about 1.5 miles to reach The Ernst Quarries. Please ensure to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules.
Walking
If you prefer to walk and are starting from downtown Bakersfield, head north on Chester Avenue. Walk for approximately 2 miles until you reach Round Mountain Road. Turn right onto Round Mountain Road and continue walking for another 1.5 miles. The Ernst Quarries will be located on your left side. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
