Public Transit
If you're starting from downtown Bakersfield, walk to the nearest bus stop that services the Golden Empire Transit (GET) routes. Board the Route 31 bus heading northbound. This bus will take you towards the Hart Park area. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Hart Park'. From the bus stop, you will see the entrance to the park directly in front of you. The park is open from 5 AM to 10 PM, so plan your visit accordingly.
Biking
For a biking option, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing stations in downtown Bakersfield. Head north on Chester Avenue and follow it until you reach 24th Street. Turn right on 24th Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Niles Street. Turn left on Niles Street and keep going until you see signs for Hart Park. The park entrance will be on your right. This route is approximately 5 miles and should take around 30 minutes to bike.
Walking
If you prefer walking, you can start from the downtown area by heading north on Chester Avenue. Continue walking for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with Niles Street. Turn left onto Niles Street and walk for another mile. You will start to see signs for Hart Park, and shortly after, you will arrive at the entrance of the park. The walk should take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your pace.
