Getting There

  • Bus

    From downtown Berkeley, walk to the nearest bus stop on Shattuck Ave. Board the AC Transit Bus 40 heading towards Vallejo. Stay on the bus for approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the Sonoma Plaza stop. From there, walk west on 1st Street for about 10 minutes, and you will reach the Depot Park Museum located at 270 1st St W.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike rental shops in Berkeley. Head north on the Berkeley Marina Bike Path, which connects to the Bay Trail. Follow the Bay Trail towards Vallejo and then take the route towards Sonoma. The ride will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once in Sonoma, navigate to 270 1st St W, which is about a 5-minute ride from the main road.

  • Walking

    For a longer walk, start from the Berkeley campus and head north on Telegraph Ave until you reach the intersection with University Ave. Turn left and continue walking until you reach the bus terminal. From there, you can take the bus as described above. Alternatively, if you are feeling adventurous, you can walk approximately 5 miles north along the scenic path through the hills to reach Sonoma, which will take around 2 hours.
