Discover more about Central Park

Central Park, a cherished green space in the heart of Pasadena, has been a community landmark since 1902. Originally designed as a recreational retreat for tourists visiting the nearby Hotel Green and arriving at the Santa Fe Railroad Station, the park has evolved into a vibrant center for Pasadena residents and visitors alike. Spanning 9.2 acres, Central Park boasts a blend of picturesque and Beaux Arts design elements. Visitors can stroll along winding paths that connect expansive lawns, rose gardens, and various recreational facilities. The park's mature trees, some over a century old, provide ample shade, creating a cool and inviting atmosphere for picnics and leisurely walks. A playground offers fun for children, while benches and picnic tables provide spots for relaxation. Central Park is also home to the Pasadena Lawn Bowling & Croquet Club, the oldest of its kind west of the Mississippi. Founded in 1921, the club's Spanish Colonial Revival clubhouse, designed by Wallace Neff in 1929, adds to the park's historical charm. The park has been featured in Apple TV's show "Shrinking", with the Castle Green visible in the background. Central Park hosts various events throughout the year, including artisan fairs and community gatherings.
