Discover more about Stough Canyon Park

Stough Canyon Park, a gift to the city of Burbank in 1916 from real estate developer Oliver J. Stough, spans over 128 acres of public parkland. Situated in the Verdugo Mountains, the park provides a natural environment with hiking trails and views. In the early 1950s, the park saw improvements, including picnic and camping facilities around Inspiration Point. A permanent structure for the Starlight Bowl was added in 1951, along with a paved road for better access. While some original facilities were removed in 1958 to make way for the DeBell Golf Course, Stough Canyon Park remains a destination for outdoor activities. The park features a variety of trails, from easy strolls to more challenging hikes. The Stough Canyon Trail, a 2.5-mile loop, offers a moderate challenge with an elevation gain of about 800 feet. Hiking and mountain biking are allowed on fire roads, while smaller trails are reserved for hiking. The trails lead to views of the San Fernando Valley. Visitors can also explore the Stough Canyon Nature Center, which provides information about the local flora and fauna. The Nature Center offers educational programs, including nature hikes and workshops.
