Public Transit (Bus)
To get to Strawberry Hill in San Francisco from Castro Valley, start by walking to the nearest bus stop. You can take the AC Transit Bus Line 46 from Castro Valley Transit Center towards the San Leandro BART station. Once you arrive at the BART station, purchase a ticket to the 'Embarcadero' station in San Francisco. After a short ride, disembark at the 'Civic Center/UN Plaza' station. From there, transfer to the Muni Bus Line 5 or 21 towards the Golden Gate Park area. Get off at the 'Stow Lake' stop. From the bus stop, walk toward Stow Lake, and you will find the entrance to Strawberry Hill, which is located within Golden Gate Park. The walk from the bus stop to Strawberry Hill should take about 10 minutes.
Public Transit (BART and Muni)
Begin at the Castro Valley BART station. Purchase a ticket for San Francisco and board a train heading towards San Francisco/Daly City. Ride the train until you reach the 'Montgomery St' station. Once there, exit the station and follow the signs to transfer to Muni. Take the N Judah line (towards Ocean Beach) or the 5 Fulton bus towards the Golden Gate Park area. Get off at the 'California Academy of Sciences' stop. From there, walk east through the park towards Stow Lake, where you will find Strawberry Hill. This last stretch is a pleasant 15-minute walk.
Walking
If you are already in Castro Valley and prefer to walk, head towards the Castro Valley BART station. From the station, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the AC Transit Bus Line 46 towards San Leandro BART. After arriving at the BART station, board the train to San Francisco. Disembark at the 'Civic Center/UN Plaza' station, then transfer to Muni and take Bus Line 5 or 21 to 'Stow Lake'. Walk from the bus stop to Strawberry Hill. The entire journey will take a few hours, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the sights along the way!
