Getting There

  • Bus

    From anywhere in Chula Vista, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the MTS bus route 704 towards Downtown San Diego. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the '12th St & Imperial Ave' stop in downtown San Diego. From there, transfer to the MTS bus route 7 and take it towards the San Diego Zoo. Get off at the 'Park Blvd & Zoo Pl' stop. The Balboa Park Carousel is a short walk from the bus stop; just head into Balboa Park and follow the signs.

  • Trolley

    If you are near the Chula Vista Trolley station, board the San Diego Trolley Blue Line heading towards America Plaza. Ride for about 30 minutes and get off at the 'City College' stop. From there, transfer to the Orange Line and take it towards El Cajon. Get off at the 'Park & Market' stop. Walk towards 4th Ave, then take the MTS bus route 7 towards the San Diego Zoo. Get off at 'Park Blvd & Zoo Pl', and the Balboa Park Carousel will be a short walk ahead.

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Chula Vista. Start by heading north towards the Bayshore Bikeway. Follow the bikeway until you reach the San Diego Bay. Once you are near the harbor, follow the signs towards Coronado Bridge and then to downtown San Diego. From downtown, continue towards Balboa Park, where you will find the Balboa Park Carousel located at 1889 Zoo Pl, San Diego, CA 92101.
