To reach 1000 Steps Beach in Laguna Beach from Costa Mesa, head to the nearest bus stop at the corner of 19th Street and Newport Boulevard. Take the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Route 1 bus heading south towards Laguna Beach. You will ride for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop located at Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and Laguna Avenue. From there, walk south along Pacific Coast Highway for about 0.3 miles. You will see a staircase leading down to the beach labeled '1000 Steps Beach' on your left.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Costa Mesa. Once you have your bike, head south on 19th Street until you reach Newport Boulevard. Turn left and follow Newport Boulevard, which will eventually become Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Continue riding south on PCH for about 5 miles. Look for the entrance to 1000 Steps Beach, which will be on your left. Please note that there is limited bike parking available near the beach.
