Walking
If you are in Laguna Beach's downtown area, start at Main Beach Park. Head south on Pacific Coast Highway (Coast Hwy) for about 0.8 miles. You will pass several shops and restaurants along the way. Keep an eye out for the '1000 Steps Beach' sign on your left. The entrance is a staircase leading down towards the beach. It's a bit steep, so be prepared for a workout!

Locate the nearest bus stop for the Laguna Beach Trolley. Take the Green Line Trolley heading south. Ask the driver to let you off at the stop near '1000 Steps Beach' or the closest stop to 31972 Coast Hwy. From the bus stop, walk a short distance back north along the Coast Hwy until you see the staircase leading down to the beach on your left.
