    Public Transport

    From the Hollywood/Vine Metro station, walk two blocks south on Argyle Avenue. The Hollywood Palladium will be on your left. A single fare on the Metro is $1.75 and includes two hours of free transfers. Consider purchasing a TAP card for easy fare payment.

    The Hollywood Palladium, located on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, is a historic concert hall and event venue that has been a cornerstone of the Los Angeles entertainment scene since its opening on October 31, 1940. Financed by Los Angeles Times publisher Norman Chandler and designed by architect Gordon Kaufmann, the Palladium was built in the Streamline Moderne and Art Deco styles, offering a futuristic vision of tomorrow to the heart of Hollywood. The Palladium's interior boasts an 11,200-square-foot dance floor, a mezzanine, and a floor level with a total capacity of 4,000. Its opening night featured Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra, with a young Frank Sinatra as the lead vocalist, setting the stage for its future prominence. During World War II, the Palladium hosted radio broadcasts with Betty Grable, and in 1961, it became the home of the Lawrence Welk Show. Throughout its history, the Hollywood Palladium has adapted to changing musical tastes, hosting big band jazz, Latin music orchestras, rock concerts, and more. It has also been the site of significant cultural and political events, including a dinner honoring President John F. Kennedy in 1961. Today, the Palladium continues to host a diverse range of events, from concerts by global touring artists to private events and award shows.
