Experience a thrilling bobsled ride through Disneyland's iconic Matterhorn, encountering icy caves and the Abominable Snowman!
Experience a high-speed bobsled ride through the iconic Matterhorn mountain at Disneyland, encountering icy caves, jagged ledges, and the legendary Abominable Snowman. Opened in 1959, it was the world's first tubular steel roller coaster.
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Walking
From anywhere within Disneyland Park, follow the signs toward Fantasyland or Tomorrowland, as the Matterhorn Bobsleds is located on the border between the two. The mountain is easily visible from most areas of the park. No additional costs are involved once inside the park.
Public Transport
If arriving via public transportation to the Disneyland Resort, use the Anaheim Regional Transportation (ART) system. ART provides shuttle service from area hotels and transport hubs to the Disneyland Main Entrance Esplanade. A one-day pass costs approximately $6 per adult. From the Esplanade, proceed to the park entrance and follow walking directions.
Parking
If driving, park at the Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals Parking Structures. Standard parking costs $35 per vehicle. From the parking structure, take the free tram to the Main Entrance Esplanade. Then follow the walking directions to the ride. Alternatively, Downtown Disney offers parking in the Simba Lot for $10 for the first hour and $14 for each additional hour, but a purchase of $20 or more at Downtown Disney will give you 3 hours of validation. From there it is a short walk to the park entrance.
