To reach the Astronomers Monument at 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles from Pasadena, start by walking to the nearest Metro Gold Line station, which is the 'Sierra Madre Villa' station. Board the train heading toward 'Union Station.' After approximately 20 minutes, get off at 'Union Station.' From there, transfer to the Metro Red Line and board the train towards 'North Hollywood.' Disembark at 'Vermont/Sunset' station. Once you exit the station, catch the DASH bus 'Griffith Park Line' (Route G) towards 'Griffith Park.' The bus will take you directly to Griffith Park, where you can disembark at the stop nearest to the Observatory. From there, it's a short walk up Observatory Road to reach the Astronomers Monument. The entire journey will take approximately 1 hour, depending on wait times.

If you are close to the Metro Gold Line station in Pasadena, you can also walk to 'Sierra Madre Villa' station and follow the public transit directions above. Alternatively, if you're in downtown Pasadena, you can take a longer walk to the 'Sierra Madre Villa' station. From there, follow the Metro Gold Line directions. Just ensure you have comfortable walking shoes as it is about a 1.5-mile walk.

For those who prefer biking, you can ride your bike from Pasadena to Griffith Park. Start from the heart of Pasadena and head south on Lake Avenue until you reach the intersection with Colorado Blvd. Turn left onto Colorado Blvd and continue until you reach the 134 Freeway. Follow the bike path along the freeway until you reach Griffith Park. The ride is approximately 7 miles and will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on your speed. Once in Griffith Park, follow the signs to the Observatory, and you will find the Astronomers Monument at the top.
