Walking
From La Jolla Cove, walk south along Coast Boulevard. Shell Beach is located at the southern end of Ellen Browning Scripps Park, about a 5-10 minute walk. Look for the staircase with the 'Shell Beach' sign.
Public Transport
From downtown San Diego, take the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus route 30 to the La Jolla Village Drive & Torrey Pines Road stop. Transfer to bus 101 towards La Jolla and get off at the Coast Boulevard stop. Walk a short distance to Shell Beach. A one-way fare is approximately $2.50.
Driving
From I-5, take exit 26 for La Jolla Village Drive. Turn left onto La Jolla Village Drive, then right onto Torrey Pines Road. Turn left onto Coast Boulevard and look for parking. Free street parking is available along Coast Blvd, but spots fill up quickly. Paid parking is available at the La Jolla Financial Building on Prospect Street. Parking fees typically range from $1-2 per hour.
