The SkyTower at SeaWorld San Diego is a 320-foot-tall gyro tower offering a six-minute ride with panoramic views of SeaWorld, Mission Bay, and the San Diego skyline. Built in 1968 and opened in 1969, it slowly rotates as it ascends, providing stunning vistas stretching up to 100 miles on a clear day.

Getting There

  • Walking

    The SkyTower is centrally located within SeaWorld San Diego, near the park's main entrance and stadium. From the entrance, follow the main pathway, keeping an eye out for signs directing you towards the center of the park. The tower is easily visible due to its height. Once you reach the SkyTower Plaza, the entrance will be clearly marked. Remember that a separate ticket is required to ride the SkyTower, in addition to park admission. Tickets can be purchased at a booth near the ride entrance. Cost: $6 per person.

  • Public Transport

    From the Old Town Transit Center, take the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus routes 8 or 9 directly to SeaWorld. The ride is approximately 15 minutes. From the SeaWorld bus stop, walk towards the park entrance, then follow the main pathway, keeping an eye out for signs directing you towards the center of the park. The SkyTower will be easily visible. MTS 1-Day Pass: $6. SkyTower ticket: $6.

  • Driving

    From I-5, exit on Sea World Drive and follow the signs to SeaWorld San Diego. After entering the parking area, follow signs for general parking. From the parking lot, proceed to the park entrance. Once inside, follow the main pathway, keeping an eye out for signs directing you towards the center of the park. The SkyTower will be easily visible. Parking cost: General parking starts at $25. SkyTower ticket: $6.
