Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by heading to Antioch, California. From the center of Antioch, take E 18th St toward the north. Continue on E 18th St and then turn right onto Fulton Shipyard Rd. Follow Fulton Shipyard Rd for approximately 1 mile. The Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge will be on your right at 501 Fulton Shipyard Rd, Antioch, CA 94509. There is no entrance fee to access the refuge, but parking may be limited, so plan accordingly.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from your location in the San Joaquin Valley to the Antioch Transit Center. Check the local bus schedules for routes that service the area, as they may vary. Once you arrive at the Antioch Transit Center, you can take a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) directly to the refuge. The distance from the transit center to the refuge is about 2 miles, and taxi fares typically range from $10 to $15.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, you can ride from the Antioch Transit Center to the refuge. From the transit center, head east on 10th St, then take a left on E 18th St. Continue on E 18th St, and then turn right onto Fulton Shipyard Rd. The distance is approximately 2 miles, and the ride should take about 15-20 minutes. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow local bike regulations.
