Know before you go
Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring Shoreline Park.
- Visit during low tide to explore the tide pools at the bottom of the stairs leading from the Torii Gate to the beach.
- Bring binoculars, especially during whale migration season (winter/spring), for a better chance of spotting gray whales.
- Pack a picnic and enjoy the sunset views from one of the many picnic tables or benches along the bluff.
- Be aware that the beach below the park is only accessible during low tide; check tide charts before planning your visit.
- Dogs are allowed on-leash in the park and off-leash on the beach west of the staircase, making it a great spot for dog owners.
