Walking
From any point in Downtown Santa Monica, head towards the Santa Monica Promenade. If you're near the Third Street Promenade, walk towards the intersection of Third Street and Colorado Avenue. From there, continue straight on Colorado Avenue until you reach Ocean Avenue. Turn left onto Ocean Avenue, and then head south toward the beach. After a short walk, you will reach the Santa Monica Pier. The Santa Monica Pier Carousel is located at 1624 Ocean Front Walk, just to the right when you enter the pier area.

Public Transportation
If you are further away in Downtown Santa Monica, you can take the Big Blue Bus. Look for the 1 or 8 lines that have stops throughout Downtown. Board the bus heading towards the beach and get off at the Santa Monica Pier stop, which is typically the last stop. From there, walk towards the pier entrance, and the carousel will be located at 1624 Ocean Front Walk. Please note that a one-way fare on the Big Blue Bus is $1.00.

If you prefer biking, Santa Monica offers a bike share program called Breeze. You can find bike stations throughout Downtown Santa Monica. Rent a bike from a nearby Breeze station and head towards the beach. Follow the bike path that leads you directly to the Santa Monica Pier.
